River Bend Trail

The River Bend Trail is the new name of the three-phase trail plan of the River District Development Foundation of Merrill. Phase 1 plans are underway to establish a recreational trail that will connect the downtown area west to the MARC and Council Grounds State Park.

The trail's length is approximately 2.5 miles long, extending westward following the Wisconsin River.  The plan calls for the trail to utilize, at times, the abandoned rail track.

The map and plan of the Phase 1 trail project is now available. The foundation received a technical assistance grant from the National Park Service to assist in the development of the westside trail  plan.
