Friends of the River District is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose purpose is to promote development along Merrill's river corridors.

* River Bend Trail brochure is now available.  Pick-up a copy at the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce.

* A community workshop was held on March 7 with the National Park Service as part of the foundation's technical assistance planning grant. Approximately 70 member from the community participated.  From this planning session, maps and plans for the development of the Phase 1 trail from the downtown area west to the MARC and Council Grounds State Park will be put into action.

*The Westside trail has been named!  It will be called the "River Bend Trail".  The name originated from input gathered at the community workshop.  Thanks to everyone for their valuable input!
